The annual Winter fayre and Santa's grotto have become a true gem of our community, bringing joy and excitement to all who attend. Last year, even with a weather warning in place, the communuty came out in force to support the event, highlighting the unwavering community spirit on which PATCH is built.
A Festive Atmosphere: Braving the gales
On the day of the fayre, the air buzzed with anticipation and holiday magic. Families bundled up against the wind and rain, and flocked to the event, excited to join the festive fun. It was clear that this event has become a cherished part of our community’s holiday traditions, uniting everyone for a delightful day of joy.
A standout feature of the fayre was the bustling craft market, which showcased the talents of over 20 local businesses. Visitors found themselves enchanted by stalls overflowing with unique gifts such as handcrafted ornaments, gifts, and delicious festive treats. One local vendor, known for their wonderful Christmas cakes, reported almost selling out, proving that the community truly supports local talent during the holiday season.
The Enchantment of Santa's Grotto
No Christmas fayre is complete without the magical experience of Santa's grotto. This year, the grotto was a spectacular sight, adorned with shimmering lights and filled with the inviting aromas of gingerbread and candy canes. Little ones eagerly played with our enthusiastic elves, who engaged them with enchanting tales and biscuit-decorating fun. The laughter and delight were contagious as they awaited their turn to meet Santa Claus. Each child left the grotto with a wrapped book, carefully chosen by our elves, thanks to the generous donations from The Works. Watching the joy on their faces as they unwrapped their gifts was a heartwarming reminder of the true spirit of Christmas—one of giving and happiness.

The fayre offered a wide array of activities to engage the entire family. From a festive take on classic fair games like Hook-a-bauble to magical face painting, there was something for everyone.
